Happy to You! Cha-cha-cha!

William you are two.

William you are a crack-up.  To call you Mr. Personality is only the tip of the iceberg.

This morning you awoke to balloons surrounding your crib.  After pretending to *hide* under your blankets you joined me in singing Happy to you!  Happy to you!  Cha-cha-cha.  For the record I was singing the Happy Birthday song, but you were proudly singing the version big-brother Henry taught you.  Cha-cha-cha.

You are a wonder sweet boy.  We dropped Charlie and Henry off at school this morning.  As the two of us were walking back to the car you stopped mid run, pausing to shout Charlie! and you quickly turned around, running back to the school.  You missed your big brother.

You talk.  A lot.  You repeat everything.  As we drive around town, you love to point things out;  Nana, Pop-Pop house!  Starbucks!  Candy!  {a.k.a. the bank.}  You also throw a temper-tantrum if we don’t stop at any of these locations.  Thankfully all calm is restored if we drive past a dump-truck! or a tractor! or a truck! or a bus! or best of all a garbage truck!

This weekend you counted to ten.  We were playing hopscotch on the driveway – which you do, and it cracks me up – and you counted.  Certain that it was a fluke I started counting again and you piped up three, four, five, six, seven…

You are opinionated as all get-out.

You are funny and you know it.

You are a joy.

You are all things amazing sweet one.

We love you!  Happy Birthday!

Staying true, and giving myself a bit of grace, we decided to skip a big birthday party for the little boys this year.  True to their sweet nature our little ones were thrilled to open a couple of gifts each and eat cup-cakes at an impromptu family gathering.  Need proof that I really am taking this laid-back approach seriously?  Check out the number of candles on the cupcakes.  Two and three, not two and four.  Oops.  Oh well, despite the cake-mix cupcakes, handful of presents and limited fanfare I’d say that fun was had by allA lot of fun.
