Be a light in the darkness and maybe win an iPad too.

doesn’t that just make you long for spring?….me too…

It was still just a small flicker of light.  A stirring in my heart.
Wanting to start out the new year fresh I opened my bible on that first day and let the pages fall where they may.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

How’s that for setting the tone for a new year?

I don’t think it comes as any surprise that I love my children.  Each boy is a true light, bright and shining to this world.

It also isn’t much of a surprise that because of Charlie, my heart has been cracked open and filled with love and passion for others with Down syndrome who aren’t fortunate to have a voice.

My love for all my children is unconditional.  It is a pure love.

“Pure Love motivates us to go beyond sympathy into compassion and then moves us to action.”  ~Patty, at A Perfect Lily

Patti has been actively advocating for Olga and Kareen.  And today she announced that Olga has a family!  Can I get a Halleluha?!  Patti has been so successful in raising money and awareness for these sweet girls, that she is now seeking a full grant {$20,000} and family for Peter.

Why Peter?  Peter has been listed on Reece’s Rainbow his entire life, and not one soul has inquired about him.  He has most likely lived in a crib his whole life, and desperately needs a family willing to give him a chance.

Patti writes:

When I asked Andrea Roberts {the executive director at RR} what suggestions she had for saving Peter, her words cut me to the heart…

“I wish I had a suggestion about Peter….I have been advocating for him for YEARS. Nothing short of a full grant is going to do much for him, I’m afraid.”

So you know what I determined in my heart?

We’re going to get Peter a full grant.

And yes, I’m shaking a little in my shoes as I type those words. I know how crazy that sounds. A full grant is $20,000. That’s a big pile of money.

But guess what? I serve a big God.

I truly believe God can do this for Peter. There are so many who have a heart to help and who truly see the desperate need of these orphans.

Might you consider opening your own heart to Olga, Kareen or Peter?  Head over to Lily’s blog and read more about the Pure Love Giveaway.  You could win an iPad, a Nikon D90 Digital Camera….it might be worth checking out….
