My Date

Now that Charlie goes to preschool three days a week and Henry is at school until 3:00, I have some special time with my littlest guy.

Pretty cute isn’t he?

Our first date was Starbucks where I sipped coffee and shared a slice of pumpkin bread with William.

He would grab a bite of his treat saying mmmm while quickly glancing around as if an older brother was waiting in the wings to grab a bite too.  Nope.  He would look back at me flash a big grin and grab another bite…mmmmm.

We quickly run errands.  Because you can quickly run errands when there is only one little one with you.  He sits in the grocery cart waving to everyone we pass, babbling to me while I babble back, telling him the name of each item I add to our cart.

Sometimes we stay home.  We eat a quiet lunch, play with toys, read books and rock in the rocking chair.

Just the two of us.

  1. Adorable! I love the one-on-one times with my kids, too. My baby, Luke, will have some alone time once John Michael starts school in the next couple months. Even the big ones enjoy it… at age 11, my oldest daughter loves to have coffee with me at Starbucks! It’s a real treat that makes her feel grown up.

  2. Catching up on your post, and just could not leave without saying….can I steal your date:)
He is such a doll, and the eating the cake thing, too funny!
Except it would be m oldest looking around at Sage going “hhmmmm”. She (Sage) is the moocher in our family!
