Baby’s first dirt.

It was a milestone William was bound to reach sooner rather than later.

Now that he is on the move – commando crawling with the best of them – he makes his way straight to the “garden” {a.k.a. Henry’s digging spot} the moment I set him free on the grass.

What is it with boys and dirt?

While we’re at it, here are William’s nine month stats – right before he’s ten months old.

Height: 26.5 {3%}
Weight: 16 pounds and 13 ounces {3%}
Head Circumference: 44.5 {25%}

Kiddo is a peanut, which means that this third baby is actually scoring plenty of his own new duds. If you can believe it, his size {6-12 months} and the seasons aren’t matching up with the bins and bins of boy togs stored in our garage. While I love new baby clothes, I have a special place in my heart for the handful of outfits that all three of my boys have worn. The outfit above is one of my favorites, each boy has enjoyed wearing it for a full summer. {Good ‘ol Hanna Andersson.}

And while our sweet baby William may not be growing like a weed, he certainly does enjoy eating them.

Oh sweet boy how we all love you.

{For my memory}

You talk! La, la, la, la.  Da, da, da, da. You say these words in the most beautiful sing-songy voice that I don’t even care if you {don’t} say mama.

You love your food!  Avocados, blueberries, bananas, grapes, peas, carrots, green beans, lentils, black beans, sweet potatoes, applesauce, yogurt.  I also give you whatever we are eating for dinner after a round through the baby grinder – ravioli, pasta with tomato sauce, chicken.  You are still nursing, and have yet to try out a cup.  We will soon enough.  But your absolute favorite food?  CHEERIOS!  A handful on your tray and you can hardly contain your excitement.

You still are waiting for that first tooth!  In the meantime we love that drooly and gummy smile of yours.

You are so happy!  You totally win the baby personality contest.  Who would have guessed that my cranky baby would turn out to be the most content of the bunch?

You have a sense of humor!  No kidding, you are funny.  Just check out your many funny faces above.  {And yes your eyes really are that blue – trust me, you mama doesn’t have extra time to edit any photos – what you see is what you get.}

You sleep through the night!  Yes, 4:30 a.m. wake-up calls still count as sleeping through the night in my book, but I wouldn’t be heartbroken if you wanted to sleep longer.

You are loved!
