Not sure how I missed this one…it was all ready to post last week when it really was frosty and cold. Unlike this week, which has still been cold, but sunny enough to draw us outside. No matter, I thought it was worth sharing – despite my forgetfulness.
We are firmly in the middle of winter. Our days include freezing temperatures, sudden snow flurries, fog that has made itself at home and frost that hugs everything in site. Some might call this the season of winter blahs.
Our time outside has become limited and forced us to be more creative in our play. Wintertime with toddlers will make you do some pretty funny things, but I think it’s safe to say that we have the wintertime blahs beaten. For now.
Yes, Henry is playing with our vacuum cleaner. As of late, it is currently his “toy” of choice. In my defense, it is unplugged. We encourage creative and open-ended play around here. I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that it makes your kids smarter.
And yes, Charlie is still wearing his Christmas jammies. In January.
We’ve teeter tottered…
and played with the idea of starting our own band.
If these are the sort of days that are brought upon by the winter blahs, then I say welcome!
Days filled with simple moments of joy.
We are blessed.
